Medical doctor , University of health sciences

Studying medicine at the University of Health Sciences is a 6-year course, divided into two sections: the pre-clinical section (years 1-3) and the clinical section (years 4-6). But what do pre-clinical and clinical mean?

The pre-clinical section encompasses the study of various subjects, serving as the scientific foundation of medical theory. It commences with the fundamentals, delving into small particles and progressing to macro concepts. The aim is to build a comprehensive knowledge base, preparing students for both theoretical examinations, which they must pass once within the total duration of three years, and the fundamental practical section. In the clinical part, the focus shifts to practical aspects and hospital services. This phase allows students to learn through hands-on experience, applying theoretical knowledge to explain patients' cases. While the six-year journey of studying medicine may seem extensive, I firmly believe that completing these six years is merely the inception of the pathway to becoming a proficient healthcare professional.
